On desktop, the comparison page now gives you a wider view so you can line up plans side by side more easily. We've also reorganized the journey from purchase to setup into three clear steps. The goal is simple: spend less time wondering "which plan should I pick?" and "what do I do after I buy?"
Until now, the comparison page used a two-column layout, with filters on the left and results on the right. When you wanted to study several plans closely, the results area could feel a little cramped, so we revisited the design.
What's new
A wider comparison view
On desktop, the left-hand filter column now tucks away so the plan list can spread across the full width of the screen. That makes it much easier to compare multiple countries or plans at a glance. On smartphones, filtering still works the same way, through the menu that slides up from the bottom of the screen.
A 3-step "How it works"
We've reorganized the "How it works" section on the home page into three steps: 1) Choose a plan → 2) Quick setup → 3) Connect on arrival. Each step now comes with a screenshot, so even before you buy you can picture the whole flow. Setup tends to be the moment people feel least sure about, so we've made it clear which screen you're on and which button to tap.
Why we made the change
For anyone new to eSIM, the two spots where people most often get stuck are "choosing" and "setting up." We decided that seeing the flow at a glance brings more peace of mind than adding more information, so we prioritized easy comparison and a clear view of the steps. Having lots of options is genuinely useful, but without thoughtful presentation "plenty of choice" can quickly turn into "too much to choose from." This update is about smoothing out that first impression.
When this helps
Say you're traveling through two countries on a single trip, or you're weighing different data sizes within the same country. A wider comparison view makes it easier to put data amounts and validity periods next to each other and see the differences clearly.
When it comes to choosing, working through the questions in this order tends to narrow things down:
- Destination (country or region): start by deciding where you'll use it
- Number of days: match it to how long you'll stay (leaving a little buffer is reassuring)
- Data amount: less if you'll mostly use maps and messaging; more if you watch a lot of video or use tethering often. You might also consider a plan with no fixed high-speed data cap.
A rough guide to data amounts
If you're not sure how much you'll use, try the figures below as a starting point. Actual usage varies with how you use your phone and your quality settings, so treat these as rough estimates only.
| Mainly used for | Rough daily amount | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Maps, search, and messaging | up to ~0.5 GB | People who just need to stay in touch and find their way |
| Also sharing on social media and photos | ~0.5–1 GB | People who like to post as they go |
| Streaming video, video calls, and tethering | ~1.5 GB and up | People who watch for long stretches or connect a laptop |
Because these estimates shift with how you use your phone, if you're unsure it can help to pick a slightly larger amount so you worry less about running short while you're away. Pricing, data amounts, and supported countries can change, so please check the current details on the comparison page before you buy.
Things worth checking before you choose
To get off to a smooth start, it's worth confirming the following before you purchase:
- Device compatibility: checking in advance whether your phone supports eSIM helps you avoid hitches during setup.
- Data-only service: Bloomy eSIM is a data-only service, so it doesn't come with a phone number, SMS, or voice calling. If you'll need a local phone number or SMS verification, please plan for a separate option as well. Calling apps such as WhatsApp may work wherever you have a data connection.
- When to activate: in most cases you install before you leave and switch over to the line after you arrive. This varies by plan, so please check the guidance shown at purchase.
The Bloomy touch
We designed the three-step screenshots to look close to the real thing, so it's clear that "this is the button to tap." We kept the colors and spacing gentle, so people trying eSIM for the first time can read through without feeling intimidated. We also avoided jargon wherever we could, so newcomers won't feel left behind as they read.
What's next
We'll keep tuning the comparison view and how filters appear as we watch how people use them. Step by step, we plan to make plans easier to find and easier to choose.
