About eSIM

What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your smartphone. Instead of swapping a physical SIM card, you add a mobile plan using a QR code or setup details.
How is it different from a physical SIM?
There is no card to swap—you add the plan on your phone. Abroad, you can keep your home SIM in place and just add an overseas data plan.
Can I use a phone number or SMS?
Bloomy eSIM is a data-only eSIM for internet use (maps, LINE, social media). Regular phone-number calls and SMS are not supported, but internet calls such as LINE, WhatsApp and Instagram calls work. If you need a phone number, consider pairing it with a number app or a local SIM.
Can I receive SMS verification codes?
Bloomy eSIM has no phone number, so it cannot receive SMS verification codes. Note that numbers from VoIP apps may also be rejected by banks, government services, LINE, Google or Apple ID. For important verifications, consider keeping your home mobile number or using a local SIM.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Buying, setting up and checking your remaining data are all done in your phone's browser. There is no app to install.
How do you read “Bloomy eSIM”?
Bloomy eSIM is read “Buruumii eSIM”. The official name is “Bloomy eSIM”, and it is sometimes searched as “Buruumii”, “Buruumii eSIM”, or “Buruumii SIM”.
Can I find Bloomy eSIM by searching “Bloom” or “bloom”?
The official name is “Bloomy eSIM” (read “Buruumii”). “Bloom” is not the official name, but it is sometimes used as a misspelling when looking for the service.

Before you buy

Will the eSIM work on my phone?
Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Please check your device’s eSIM support before purchasing.
Does a SIM lock prevent use?
A locked device may not be able to use an overseas eSIM. Please check your unlock status with your carrier or in your device settings.
When should I buy?
We recommend buying with time to spare before departure. Receiving your setup link (or QR code) in advance and preparing the install over Wi-Fi is the safest approach.
Does the validity start on the day I buy?
The days are counted from activation — the moment your eSIM first connects to a network abroad — not from the day you buy it. You have up to 180 days after purchase to activate, so you can buy and set everything up before you travel. Topping up adds to your expiry date as well. My Page always shows the exact expiry date for your eSIM.
Can I install it before departure?
In most cases yes. However, the validity start timing varies by plan, so please check the guidance you receive after purchase.
Which plan should I choose?
It depends on your destination, days, and how much you stream video or use maps. Short trips need less data; long stays or heavy SNS/map use suggest a larger allowance.
Why is Bloomy eSIM affordable?
As a gateway service for going abroad we do not aim to maximize profit on the eSIM alone, we prioritize transparent information over heavy advertising, and we keep costs lean with a small team and trusted partners. Price differences vary by plan and country.

Sign-up & payment

How soon does the QR code arrive?
Usually your setup guidance (one-tap setup link, QR code and setup details) is emailed to your registered address after purchase. It may take a little time depending on payment processing.
What payment methods can I use?
You can use the payment methods shown on the site. Please check the available options on the checkout screen.
Can I get a receipt?
You can view your receipt from “Order history” in My Account. If it is not shown there, please check your payment confirmation email or your payment provider’s statement, or contact support.

QR code & email

Where is the QR code sent?
It is sent to the email address you entered at purchase. Please also check your spam and promotions folders.
What if the email does not arrive?
Check your spam folder, a possible typo in your address, and your mail filters. If it is still missing, contact support with your order number or purchase email.
I deleted the purchase email. Can I get the QR code again?
Yes. Your QR code and setup details are always available in My Page, as many times as you need. It is fine to delete the email.
Do you send a setup guide PDF?
No. Bloomy does not send PDF guides. Everything is handled in My Page, where the QR code, manual setup details and data usage are all on one screen.
Do I need a second device to scan the QR code?
Showing the QR code on a separate screen from the phone you are installing on is smoothest. If manual setup details are provided, you can enter them directly instead.

Setup & activation

I deleted the eSIM from my phone. Can I reinstall it?
Often it cannot be reinstalled with the same QR code. The QR code itself stays available in My Page, but please do not delete an installed eSIM until you have finished using it. If you cannot connect, check the troubleshooting steps before deleting anything.
Is setup difficult?
Basically you scan the QR code and add a mobile plan. If it is your first time, follow the steps on our setup guide page.
Does data start right after install?
It varies by plan—some start when you connect to a local network on arrival, others on first use. Please check the post-purchase guidance.
Should I turn off my home SIM?
Leaving your home SIM’s data roaming on abroad can cause high charges. Select Bloomy eSIM for mobile data at your destination and be careful with your home SIM’s roaming setting.
Can I move an eSIM I already set up to another device?
Travel eSIMs generally cannot be reinstalled on another device. Each eSIM can usually be installed only once (whether by QR code or manual setup), so please set it up on the device you will actually use.
Is it OK to delete the eSIM after setup?
Deleting an eSIM after installation may make it unusable. Please do not delete it until you have finished using it.

Connection & data

Can I use it in more than one country?
Each plan covers a set list of countries. Alongside single-country plans we offer regional plans (for example Europe or South America) that work across multiple countries — the covered countries are listed on each plan page. With a regional plan you can cross borders on the same eSIM.
What if it does not connect abroad?
Check that the eSIM is on, that Bloomy eSIM is selected for mobile data, and that data roaming is enabled. See our “Not connecting?” page for details.
Is it OK to turn data roaming on?
You may need to enable data roaming on the Bloomy eSIM line. Just make sure your home/primary line is not roaming unintentionally—check which line is used for data.
Can I use tethering?
Availability varies by plan and local network. Even when available, it uses up data faster, so please use it with that in mind.
What happens when I run out of data?
Depending on the plan, data may stop or be slowed. You may need to buy a top-up or another plan.
Can I use 5G?
It depends on your device, destination, local network and plan. Even on a 5G-capable plan, you may connect via 4G/LTE depending on area and signal.

Cancellation & refund

Can I cancel after purchase?
By the nature of eSIMs, cancellation/refund can be difficult after issuance or once the QR code is sent. Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
What if I bought the wrong plan?
Whether we can help depends on usage and issuance status. Please contact support with your order number and purchase email.
