With this update, it's easier to see at a glance what Bloomy eSIM is and whether it's right for you before you buy. If getting your phone ready for a trip abroad feels a bit stressful, you can now quickly see what to check and what to decide, so you spend less time going back and forth.
We already listed prices and supported countries, but there wasn't one place that answered the simple question: "Can I use this if I've never used an eSIM before?" We've now put Bloomy eSIM's key features into one easy-to-follow flow: getting ready before you leave → connecting when you land → choosing a plan that fits your stay. This follows the same order as your trip, from before you leave until you get back, so you can quickly see where you are and what to check next.
What is an eSIM? A quick primer
If you're new to eSIMs, here's the short version. An eSIM is a chip built into your phone that stores your mobile plan details. There's no physical card to swap. If your device supports eSIM, you buy a plan online and install it with a tap or through an app. The big advantage of a travel eSIM is that you can set up a data plan for your destination before you even leave home.
Keep in mind that not every device supports eSIM. Before you buy, use our device compatibility page to make sure your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Checking this first is the easiest way to avoid the most common problem: buying a plan your phone can't use.
What we've reorganized
We've grouped the features around three stages of your trip. The goal wasn't to add more information. It was to show what to check, and when, in a clear order.
Before you leave
You can compare plans by destination, data amount and duration, and see how setup works before you buy. For most plans, the smoothest approach is to install the eSIM before you leave and turn on the line once you arrive. When the plan activates depends on the plan, so please check the details before you buy. If you get partway through setup on Wi-Fi before your trip, you'll have less to do when you land.
After you arrive
To make the first few minutes after landing easier, we've laid out the steps to get connected and what to check if you can't get online. You'll find step-by-step instructions in our setup guide and fixes for common issues on our troubleshooting page. Right after landing, your phone may still be on airport Wi-Fi rather than your eSIM line. If you keep seeing "No Service," check which line is set for mobile data and make sure data roaming is on. That often fixes it.
Choosing a plan for your stay
The right plan depends on whether you're taking a short trip or staying longer to study or live abroad. To help you pick only what you need, you can compare data plans and unlimited plans side by side. If you're not sure how much data you'll use, you can start with a smaller data plan and top up if you run low.
Why we made this change
We often hear from first-time eSIM users: "I can see it's affordable, but will it actually work for me?" Getting your phone ready for a trip isn't just about price. People also worry about whether they can set it up, whether it will connect at their destination and what to do if something goes wrong. When that information is spread across different pages, it's hard to know where to start, and preparation gets put off.
Bloomy eSIM isn't just about being affordable. We want first-time users to feel confident both before and after they buy. So instead of simply listing features, we've organized them around how your trip unfolds. This isn't a big overhaul. It's one of many small steps we're taking to make things clearer.
What this means for you
Once you know where you're going, you can use our comparison page to find plans by country, data amount and duration, then go straight to the setup steps. After you buy, you can check your eSIM anytime in My Account, so you can keep an eye on things throughout your trip, not just at checkout.
Here's an example. A few days before your trip, you check your device and choose a plan. The day before, you get partway through setup. When you land, you turn on the line. You can follow each step in order, all from one place. When you can see what to do and when, it's much easier to prepare calmly, especially if it's your first time. How much data do you need? A rough guide
Not sure how many GB to choose? Here are some rough estimates by type of use. Actual usage depends on your apps, video quality and how often you're online, so treat these as ballpark figures.

A common question is whether to choose a data plan or an unlimited plan. Each suits different travel styles, so here's how they compare.

Hotspot use and covered countries also vary by plan, so please check the latest terms before you buy. Speed and reliability also depend on local networks, coverage and how busy the network is at the time. Bloomy eSIM is a data-only service. It doesn't include a phone number, SMS or voice calls. If you need a number for calls or SMS verification codes, please plan another way to handle that.
