Tell the chat something like “Taiwan and Korea, 7 days each,” and you’ll see multi-country plans that fit right away. Until now you had to ask about one destination at a time, and the options for the country you mentioned last would sometimes push out the earlier ones. Now a single message is enough to see options that cover the whole trip.
What’s new in this update
- The chat can now take several countries at once (up to five) in a single message
- We suggest plans that cover every country you list, filtered to your conditions
- Options for the first country you mention no longer get overwritten by options for the next one
- If no single plan covers your whole route, we say so plainly instead of forcing a suggestion
For destinations where wide, multi-country plans exist, you’ll now see combinations we simply couldn’t surface before.
Why we changed it
When people ask about a multi-country trip, they naturally describe it as a set from the start — “Taiwan and Korea,” “Thailand and Vietnam.” But the chat could only accept one country at a time, so it had to ask again. Worse, once you added the second country, the plan options for the first one could disappear. Reading it back, you’d see a conversation that mentioned both destinations but showed options for only one — easily the most confusing moment in the whole flow.
People traveling through several countries are also the ones most likely to wonder whether to buy one eSIM per country or a single one for everything. That decision affects both cost and setup time, so it felt right to give a clear picture in the very first exchange.

- Less over- or under-buying: you get what you need to judge whether one eSIM covers it or splitting makes more sense, all at once
- An honest “no match”: rather than stretching a nearly-right plan to fit, we tell you when nothing meets your conditions
Worth knowing: is one eSIM enough for a multi-country trip?
Here’s how we’d think about it. In short: if coverage, number of days, and data allowance all comfortably fit your itinerary, one eSIM keeps things simpler — and if any one of those is tight, splitting is the safer bet.
When one eSIM works well
- Your destinations sit within the same region (several countries in Asia, for example)
- Your total trip length fits inside the plan’s validity period
- You use your phone about the same way in each country (mostly maps and messaging, say)
When splitting is the better call
- Your route crosses regions (Asia and Europe, for instance)
- One country is a much longer stay and needs a bigger allowance on its own
- You expect heavy video or tethering in one country but not the other
Even if you split, setup is still a single tap on the link you receive for each one. You just switch which line you’re using as you cross borders.
Bloomy eSIM is data-only. There’s no phone number attached, so voice calls and SMS aren’t available — but app-based calling such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and FaceTime works as usual. On a multi-country trip, expect to stay in touch mainly through messaging and app calls. If you need SMS verification codes sent to a phone number, plan ahead — for example, keep your home-country line active alongside the eSIM. All plans are subject to a fair use policy, and actual speeds and connection quality vary with the local network, your device, and where you are.
The part we were particular about
One thing matters a lot to us: not inventing a plausible-sounding answer when we don’t have one. Multi-country trips come with complicated conditions, and sometimes no plan fits. Offering something “close enough” in that moment leads to the worst possible outcome — landing somewhere and finding the country isn’t covered. So when there’s no match, we say so, and point you toward splitting by country or checking the comparison page instead.
