Links and fine print on our plan pages are now much easier to read. Whether you're outdoors in bright sunlight or checking on a small screen, the conditions and notes are far less likely to slip past you. The parts we most want you to read before you buy were the ones showing up faintly, so that's where we started.
What we changed
We reviewed how text appears and how the pages behave, focusing on the plan detail pages.
- Links inside the text: darker colour plus an underline, so it's clear what's tappable even if you perceive colour differently
- Notes such as supported networks: we adjusted colours that were close to light grey and hard to read
- Purchase button: stronger contrast between background and text, so the place to tap is obvious at a glance
- Wide tables: tables that don't fit on screen can now be moved with the keyboard as well as by swiping
This applies across the plan detail pages. The information itself — pricing, data allowance, covered countries — hasn't changed. This was purely a readability pass.
Why we did it
The most common mistake when buying an eSIM isn't picking a cheap plan. It's buying without having read the conditions. Device compatibility, how many days you can use the plan, the fact that it's data-only — all of it is written down, but small, faint text gets skipped.
People also tend to check these things right before a trip, often on the move or outdoors, exactly when screens are hardest to read. Tidying up the display isn't decoration to us; it's practical work that helps you make a good decision before you pay.
What this means for you
- Even outdoors or in bright light, the fine print is easier to make out
- You can tell which parts of the text are links, so it's easier to reach the explanation you need
- Wide tables (data and duration lists, for example) are easier to read all the way across
Worth knowing: four things to check before you buy
Now that these pages are easier to read, here are the items we'd most encourage you to look at.
1. Whether your device is compatible
eSIMs only work on compatible devices. On top of that, a phone that can't be switched to another operator's network (carrier-locked) may not work. Please check our device compatibility page before you buy.
2. That it's data-only
Bloomy eSIM plans are data-only. You can't make or receive calls on a phone number, and SMS isn't available. What you can do, as usual, is use apps that call over data — WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime and the like. "No calls at all" is a common misunderstanding, and it isn't the case.
If you need messages sent to a phone number — SMS verification codes from your bank or social accounts, for example — it's worth planning ahead, such as keeping your home-country number active alongside your eSIM.
3. How many days the plan runs
Every plan has a set number of usable days. If that's shorter than your trip, you'll run out while you're away. How the start date is counted can differ between plans, so please read the details before you buy.
4. Whether the data allowance fits how you travel
If you mostly use maps and messaging, around 0.5GB a day is a reasonable guide; if you also post to social media and share photos, around 1GB a day (it varies with how you use it). If you plan on watching a lot of video, or tethering a laptop, it's worth also checking the terms on larger plans and unlimited plans. Unlimited plans suit heavy, sustained use, though speeds after a certain amount of usage and the conditions for tethering may be set under a fair usage policy.
When you're unsure, check in this order — device compatibility, then destination, then number of days, then data — and you'll rarely need to start over. Data can be topped up later, so you don't have to get the first plan exactly right.

We didn't make things readable by cutting the fine print short. Knowing that a plan is data-only, and knowing its conditions, is exactly the kind of information that makes buying feel safe. Rather than trimming the words to make the rest stand out, we chose to make all of it legible as it is.
