The plan comparison page now opens in about half the time it used to, and you can tell whether a discount is applied just by looking at the price. The goal of this update was simple: less waiting while you browse, and no more wondering whether the number on screen is the discounted one.
What changed in this update
Pages load faster
Measured on a smartphone under conditions meant to simulate a busy network, the comparison page began rendering in about 1.8 seconds instead of about 3.1, and finished rendering in about 3.8 seconds instead of about 5.0 (in-house testing, July 2026). The gain comes from cleaning up parts of the page that were being rebuilt on every load. Real-world speed depends on your device and connection, but the wait should be shorter no matter which destination you select.
Discounts now appear in the price itself
When a discount applies, the original price stays visible with a strikethrough, and the discounted price and the percentage off sit right next to it. We applied the same treatment everywhere: the plan list, the plan detail page, the pre-purchase review screen, and the final checkout screen.
Previously we showed a small "a discount is active" banner in the corner of the screen. Close it, and every trace of the discount disappeared. We've now removed that banner entirely — the price field says it better. That also fixes the problem of the banner covering the lower part of the screen, where the text and buttons you actually need tend to be.
Text and links are easier to read
We reworked contrast between text and background across the site, and links inside body text are now underlined. Color perception varies from person to person, so a link should be recognizable without relying on color alone. Wide tables can now be scrolled left and right with the keyboard. These adjustments bring the pages in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, a widely used readability and accessibility standard.
Why we made these changes
The plan selection screen is where hesitation happens. If it makes you wait, or if the numbers are ambiguous, the easiest thing to do is put the decision off entirely. Discounts are the worst offender: "this is supposed to be cheaper, but is this figure the cheaper one?" is an uncomfortable place to be.
We decided that floating a notice over the page is less reliable than saying it in the price field, where the decision actually gets made. Floating notices tend to end up either dismissed or in the way.
How to pick an eSIM by destination, data, and duration
Here's the way we'd suggest using the comparison page. Working in this order keeps things simple.
- Pick your destination — each plan covers a specific country or region. If you're crossing several borders on one trip, look for a regional or multi-country plan
- Pick your duration — add a little buffer beyond your planned stay
- Pick your data amount — this is the part people agonize over most
How much data you need depends heavily on how you use your phone.

If you're unsure whether an amount will be enough, buying one large bundle up front isn't always the most efficient choice. Often it's better to start with what you think you need and top up from your account page if you run short. For heavy, sustained use, an unlimited plan may suit you better — but note that unlimited plans can still carry a fair usage policy and conditions on speed once a certain volume is reached, and hotspot/tethering support varies by plan. Displayed price and charged amount now match
We also found that on a handful of lower-priced plans, the amount shown on screen didn't exactly match the amount charged at checkout — and the charged amount could come out slightly higher. We've corrected the displayed figure to match what you actually pay. The gap was small in absolute terms, but a price you can trust is the baseline for making any comparison at all.
A note on the details, and what's next
We deliberately avoided a bold, filled-in badge for the discount label, using a thin outline on a white background instead. It's meant to sit quietly as information you need in order to decide — not as an advertisement.
We'll keep looking for the places where hesitation creeps in and smoothing them out. On speed, there are still screens with noticeable waits, and we plan to keep working on those.
