Articles and comparison pages are now easier to read on a smartphone, with text and tables far less likely to get cut off at the edge of the screen. Because travel eSIMs are so often checked on the go, we started by getting the reading experience right.
What we improved
On some pages, content used to extend beyond the width of a smartphone screen, leaving the edges of text and tables cut off. We've revisited the left and right spacing and the overall balance of each page so that everything sits comfortably within the screen. The goal is for you to keep reading with your phone in one hand, without scrolling sideways.
- Added spacing on articles and listing pages so text no longer runs right up against the screen edge
- Kept comparison tables within their frame so they no longer spill off the side
- Adjusted headings and body text so they don't look cramped on a phone
Why we made this change
Information about travel eSIMs is very often read on a smartphone — while preparing before a trip, or setting things up after you arrive. When the part you want to read is cut off at the edge, it becomes a small source of stress and makes it harder to take in what you need. Comparison tables matter especially, since that's where you weigh data amounts against the number of days. If that gets cut off, the very information that should help you decide doesn't come across. We revisited the layout because we want you to be able to read with confidence.
Tips for checking travel eSIM information on your phone (good to know)
Now that the reading experience is in better shape, here are a few things worth knowing when you check travel eSIM information on a smartphone. Skimming through them before you set off can save you from scrambling once you're there.
Worth checking before you go
Before departure, it's reassuring to confirm that your destination is covered, that your device supports eSIM, and that the number of days and data amount suit your plans. You can check whether your device is supported on our eSIM-compatible devices page. Getting things ready while you still have Wi-Fi at home means less to do once you arrive.
Choosing data and duration
It's easier to choose a data amount by thinking about "what you'll use it for, and how much, during your stay." If you mostly use maps, quick searches, and messaging, a smaller amount is often enough. If you share a lot of photos and videos or make frequent calls through apps, a more generous amount or an unlimited-type plan may suit you better. For duration, picking a few days longer than your actual stay makes it easier to absorb shifts in your arrival or departure dates. If you're unsure, it's reasonable to start with a shorter duration and a mid-range data amount, then consider topping up if you find it isn't enough.
When to set things up
In most cases, the safest flow is to install the eSIM before you leave and then activate the line after you arrive. That said, the right time to activate can vary by plan, so please check the guidance before you buy.
If the connection feels weak
Connection speed and stability vary with the local network, the area, and how busy the network is at a given time. If the connection feels weak, it can help to try a few things in order: toggling airplane mode on and off, checking your line (data roaming) settings, and reselecting the network you're using. We've gathered the steps on our troubleshooting page.
Keep in mind it's data-only
Bloomy eSIM is, as a rule, for data communication only — there is no phone number, no SMS, and no voice calling. If you need a phone number, SMS, or voice calls, it's wise to line up another option as well. App-based calls through services like WhatsApp may work wherever you have a data connection.
What this makes easier
Because text and tables now fit properly on a smartphone, you can read calmly even while traveling or out and about. Comparison tables in particular are visible without being cut off, so it's easier to weigh data amounts and durations as you choose a plan. Even a short free moment before departure is now enough to move your preparation along on your phone alone.
The Bloomy touch we kept in mind
Rather than overhauling the look, we kept the gentle, white-based feel as it is and quietly tidied up only the readability. We care about reducing the small snags — cramped text, cut-off tables — that get in the way. Our aim is a reading experience that even first-time visitors can settle into with confidence.
Looking ahead
We plan to keep fine-tuning readability on smartphones, watching for differences across devices and screen sizes. As we notice things, we'll keep making small improvements over time.
