Easier Ways to Check Your Data Balance and Order Status

With this update, the data balance shown on your account page now better reflects your actual usage, and you can see at a glance where your order stands — Paid, Issuing, Refunded, Cancelled, or Failed. That small moment of doubt after buying — “Did my eSIM actually get issued?” or “How much data do I have left?” — is now something you can settle just by glancing at the screen.

What’s New in This Update

There are two main changes:

  • We refined how your data balance is displayed: The balance on your account page now tracks your actual usage more closely, so it’s easier to read. You can get a useful estimate of what’s left without any manual fiddling.
  • We tidied up the order status display: Order states are now organized into Paid, Issuing, Refunded, Cancelled, and Failed, making it clearer which stage your order is at.

We believe that simply being able to see “where things stand right now” goes a long way toward peace of mind after a purchase.

Why We Made This Change

An eSIM doesn’t arrive as a card or a package in the mail. That’s exactly why questions like “Did the payment go through?”, “When can I start using it?”, and “How much do I have left?” can feel hard to answer — especially for first-time users. At Bloomy, we care about making sure that travelers using an eSIM abroad for the first time, as well as those getting ready for study abroad, long stays, or short trips, don’t feel lost after they buy. This update is about reducing that sense of uncertainty, even a little.

How This Helps You

In everyday situations, this comes in handy in moments like these:

  • Right after buying, a quick look at your order status shows whether it has moved into the issuing stage.
  • While you’re traveling and start to think “I might be using more data than I expected,” you can check an estimate of your remaining balance on your account page.
  • Even if a refund or cancellation occurs, the status is described in plain words, so it’s easier to understand what’s going on.

Please note that the balance shown is an estimate. Depending on the timing of your connection and how usage is tallied on the network side, it may not match your actual usage exactly. If you notice a large discrepancy, please wait a little while and check again.

The Bloomy Touch

We tried to avoid jargon and instead show each state with clear, plain-language labels like “Paid” and “Issuing.” Rather than a row of numbers or cryptic codes, we prioritized making the situation easy to picture at a glance. This update is about helping you reach the information you need gently, without pressure.

Tips: What to Do When You’re Running Low on Data

Once you can see your remaining balance, the natural next question is what your options are when it’s about to run out. Generally speaking, there are three broad ways to handle a data crunch abroad:

  • Adjust how you use data: Saving maps offline, turning off autoplay for videos, and limiting automatic photo and cloud backups to your accommodation’s Wi-Fi can all help cut down on data use. Start with the easy savings you can make yourself.
  • Add more data (top-up): This means adding capacity to the eSIM you’re already using. The advantage is that you don’t have to set things up again, though whether it’s available and on what terms can vary by plan and situation. Please check the latest details.
  • Buy a new plan: If you still have a long stay ahead, or you need more capacity or more days, it can be simpler to just choose a fresh plan that fits your needs.

As a rough guide: if you have only a few days left and you’re just a little short, adding data tends to make sense; if you still have a long stay ahead or your needs have changed significantly, a new plan is often easier to reason about. Which one suits you depends on your destination, the days remaining, and how much data you need — so it’s a good idea to check your current status on the balance display before deciding.

Tips: Choosing an eSIM by Destination, Data, and Duration

To pick a plan that’s less likely to run short in the first place, it helps to think along three axes before you buy:

  • Destination (country or region): First, check that your destination is supported. If you’re visiting several countries, a plan that covers multiple destinations together is also worth considering.
  • Data amount: If you mainly use maps and social apps, a smaller amount may be fine; if you watch a lot of video or use tethering, a larger amount gives you more breathing room. When in doubt, leaving a little extra headroom reduces worry on the ground.
  • Duration: Choose based on the length of your stay. For longer trips, unlimited-data plans become an option too — but even unlimited plans may include a fair-use policy or reduced speeds after a certain amount of use, and whether tethering is available, as well as the speeds you get, depend on the local network, area, and congestion. Checking the terms before you buy will give you more peace of mind.

Also, Bloomy plans are data-only by design. They do not include a phone number, SMS, or voice calls, so if you need a phone number, SMS verification, or voice calling, please also look into other options. App-based calls such as those in WhatsApp or other messaging apps may work wherever you have a working data connection.

What’s Next

Making your balance and order status easy to read is something we’ll keep refining. We plan to improve clarity and ease of checking step by step, based on what we notice as people use it. For anything not yet finalized, we’ll share more once it’s decided.
