You can now view, save as a PDF, and share the receipt for any plan you've purchased with Bloomy eSIM, right from My Account. Use it for expense reports covering travel and connectivity costs, or simply to keep a record of your purchase. It takes a little of the admin work out of buying an eSIM.
What's new in this update
Open the relevant order under “Order History” in My Account, and you'll see the receipt. It includes the key details you'd expect:
- Receipt number, amount paid, and payment date
- Payment method (credit card, Apple Pay, and similar options are shown)
- Product name (plan name), quantity, and transaction details
- Seller name, service name, and the buyer's email address
From there, you can save the receipt as a PDF. On a phone, you can send it by email or messaging straight from the share menu; on a computer, you can download it in a single tap. We've also made past orders available, so receipts for earlier purchases are easy to find. If you ever think “I can't track down the receipt for that trip,” just log in and pull it up from your history.
Why we built this
Travelers who claim their eSIM as a travel or connectivity expense, and anyone who likes to keep a record of what they bought, told us they wanted an easy way to access a receipt. Until now our focus had been on the checkout flow, so we went back and made the receipt easier to view and save — with the amount, date, line items, and issuing company all visible at a glance. Getting ready for a trip or a stay abroad already involves plenty of to-dos, and the paperwork afterward should be as short as possible. This is one small improvement aimed at saving you hassle down the line.
Receipt vs. invoice vs. itemized slip (good to know)
When it comes to expense claims, a few similar-looking documents can be easy to mix up. Here's a simple breakdown of what each one is for:
- Invoice … a request for payment — “please pay this amount.” You usually receive it before paying.
- Receipt … proof that payment was received — “we confirm this was paid.” This is the document most often asked for in expense reports and record-keeping.
- Itemized slip … a record of the purchase details. Depending on the contents it may serve in place of a receipt, though some organizations still ask specifically for a receipt.
With Bloomy, once your online payment is complete you can obtain this receipt from My Account. If you need to submit something to your employer or a client, it helps to check in advance whether they require a “receipt” or an “invoice” — that way you avoid having to redo it.
Claiming expenses vs. tax documentation (good to keep in mind)
If you simply need to claim the cost as an expense, the receipt covers the essentials: amount, date, transaction details, and the issuing company. It works for bookkeeping if you're self-employed, or for reimbursement if you're an employee paying out of pocket.
If, on the other hand, you need a specific tax document (for example, to reclaim VAT or claim an input-tax deduction), additional requirements such as a registration number may apply, and these vary by country. Because the tax treatment of an eSIM used abroad can differ case by case, we recommend confirming whether you need such a document, and how it's treated under current rules, with official sources or a tax professional. At present we don't support adding a bill-to name to the receipt, but we do have a contact point if you need a bill-to name or specific tax documentation (as of June 2026).
Small tips for smoother expense reporting
A little preparation at the time of purchase can save you a scramble later.
- Save the PDF right after you buy … saving it while everything is fresh makes life much easier once you're back from your trip.
- Group by trip or by project … if you buy several eSIMs, naming the files or sorting them into folders by purpose makes them easy to find later.
- Check the recipient's rules first … whether a bill-to name or formal tax document is required depends on who you're submitting to. Checking ahead prevents do-overs.
Note that rules for storing electronically issued receipts (such as digital record-keeping requirements) may apply where you live or work. For the specific storage rules that apply to you, please check the current regulations, your employer's policies, or guidance from a professional.
The Bloomy touches
We gave the receipt a calm, white-based design with margins and a layout that read well on a phone. We wanted it to be both clear as a document and gentle in the way that's typical of Bloomy, and easy to submit as-is for an expense claim. We also tuned the text size and the order of the fields so that someone seeing it for the first time can quickly tell what's where.
What's next
We plan to keep refining the bill-to name field and the finer points of the receipt experience based on the requests we receive. If you notice anything while using it, feel free to let us know through our contact page. We'll keep improving it, step by step, based on your feedback.
Please note: Bloomy eSIMs are data-only — they don't include a phone number, SMS, or voice calling. Usage is subject to a fair use policy, and real-world connection quality can vary depending on the local network, your device, and your location.
