Faster Data Balance Updates in My Account|See Added Data Right Away

When you add data to an eSIM you're using, we've reworked how your remaining balance updates in My Account so it reflects the latest amount more quickly. This change is meant to ease that small worry of "I topped up, but my balance doesn't look like it went up," and to make it easier to see how much data you have available at a glance.

What we improved

In My Account, you can check the remaining data, expiry date, and usage for each eSIM you're using. This time, we reorganized how the remaining balance is updated so that data you've added is reflected properly in the display. We also refresh the latest status when you open My Account. Previously, in some situations it could take a while for updates to appear, but the most recent balance should now show more reliably. Note that "balance" here generally refers to your remaining data. Bloomy plans are data-only, so if you need a phone number, SMS, or voice calls, please also look into a separate option for those.

Why we made this change

An eSIM isn't "buy it and you're done" — there are moments while you're using it when you'll want to keep an eye on your balance. Especially when you're traveling, not knowing how many GB you have left can easily become a source of stress. We see keeping the displayed balance in line with the actual remaining data as important for using your eSIM with peace of mind, so we reviewed the display down to the small details. When your balance is clear, it's easier to calmly decide whether you need to add more, or whether your current plan will be enough.

How to check your balance

When you want to check your balance, log in to My Account and select the eSIM you're using to see your remaining data and expiry date. As long as you have Wi-Fi or a connection available while traveling, you can log in and check. Streaming long videos or using map apps for extended periods tends to use up data faster, so it's worth taking a look at your balance partway through your trip to help you plan ahead. Display speed and how easily you connect can vary depending on local network conditions, your area, and congestion at different times of day.

When you're running low: top-up vs. a new plan

When your balance starts running low, you essentially have two options. Which one fits depends on your situation.

OptionWhat it doesGood when
Top-up (add data)Adds data directly to the eSIM you're already using. No re-setup needed, and you keep using the same connectionYou want to extend your trip a little / you just need a bit more data
New planPurchase a fresh plan. You can re-choose the terms and the countries or regions coveredA longer stay / moving to a different country or region / wanting to change the data amount or number of days

A top-up is convenient since it needs no re-setup, but how many times you can add data and how the expiry is handled differ by plan. If you're planning to move to a different country or region, or want to make a big change to the data amount or number of days, buying a new plan — where you can re-select the terms — may be a better fit. Whichever you choose, what you can add and the usage terms differ by plan, so it's a good idea to check the details for each plan before you buy. You can review your balance and expiry date in My Account anytime.

What to check if your balance seems unclear

If it feels like "I topped up, but it doesn't look like it went up," first try reopening My Account to load the latest status. This update should help changes appear more readily, but in places with an unstable connection it can take time to load the display. Check again on a stable connection, and if it still isn't reflected, please reach out through our contact page. It also helps to confirm whether the eSIM is still within its expiry date, and whether the countries or regions covered by the plan you added match where you're staying — this makes it easier to narrow down what's going on.

The details we cared about, the Bloomy way

Beyond just the numbers, we've laid out your remaining data and expiry date in a calm color scheme that's easy to read. When you need to check quickly while traveling, we wanted your current status to be clear right away. We aim for a layout that doesn't cram in too much information and gets the essentials across at a glance.

What's next

We plan to keep refining how easy it is to read your balance and usage, little by little. If there's anything you find hard to understand while using your eSIM, we'll use it as a reference for future improvements.
