Faster Tab Switching in Your Account Dashboard: Check Your Data Without the Wait

Switching between tabs in your account dashboard is now noticeably faster: instead of reloading the whole page, only the content itself updates. If you check your remaining data often while traveling, that feeling of being made to wait every single time is largely gone, and you can reach the information you need with just a tap or two. In this article, we'll walk through what changed and share a few tips for getting the most out of your account page while you're on the road.

What you'll learn in this article
  • Tabs now switch without a full page reload
  • Tabs you've already opened reappear almost instantly
  • Skeleton placeholders show what's happening while content loads
  • Clearer sign-in guidance and simpler passkey explanations
  • Tips for keeping an eye on your data while traveling

What's new in this update

  • Faster tab switching: You can now move between the My eSIM, VPN, Order History, Settings, and Map tabs without the page reloading. When you return to a tab you've already viewed, it appears with almost no wait at all
  • Preloading: The moment you touch a tab, we start preparing its content in the background — so by the time you tap, it's usually ready to display
  • Loading indicators: When loading is unavoidable, we now show a skeleton placeholder that matches the actual layout, so the screen never looks frozen
  • Cleaner sign-in guidance: We've reworded the sign-in screen so it makes sense whether you use eSIM, VPN, or both, and simplified the explanation of passkeys (signing in with Face ID or your fingerprint). Passkeys are currently available on mobile devices such as iPhone

Why we made this change

Your account dashboard tends to get opened at the moments that matter most on a trip — right after you land, when you're wondering how much data you have left, or when you want to change a setting. Previously, every tab press reloaded the entire page, which could mean a noticeable pause depending on your connection abroad. Network conditions vary from place to place when you travel, and a heavy page feels every bit of that. Our thinking was simple: the screens you use most should be the lightest.

We applied the same thinking to the sign-in screen. With more people using both eSIM and VPN together, we rewrote the guidance so it works for either. We also adjusted the order and wording of the explanations so that first-time users don't get stuck wondering which sign-in method applies to them.

What this means for you

  • Checking your remaining data and validity period stays smooth, even as you hop between tabs
  • In spots with a shaky connection, you can see that content is loading — so there's less of that "is it stuck?" worry
  • You can manage your eSIM and VPN in the same dashboard, moving between them at a comfortable pace
  • The tidied-up sign-in screen makes things clearer for anyone setting up a passkey for the first time

You'll feel the difference most when both time and signal are limited — checking your data right after landing at the airport, or during a quick layover. And when you have a few things to check at once (glance at your remaining data, then peek at your order history while you're at it), the lighter tab switching means you won't be tempted to give up halfway.

What each tab in your dashboard does

While we're at it, here's a quick map of what lives where. Knowing where to look means no fumbling when something comes up mid-trip.

TabWhat it's for
My eSIMCheck your purchased eSIMs' remaining data, validity period, and setup links
VPNCheck your VPN usage and connection details
Order HistoryReview past purchases and order status
SettingsManage your account details and sign-in methods
MapLook back on the countries and regions you've visited with Bloomy Map

The My eSIM tab is also where you'll find the setup link for each eSIM you've purchased. If you'd like a refresher on the setup flow (tap the setup link you received, follow the on-screen steps to add the eSIM, then switch it on when you arrive), see the setup guide.

Make checking your data a travel habit

Glance at your remaining data every few days

Running out of data mid-trip is one of the most common eSIM headaches. Map navigation and video on social apps eat through data faster than you'd expect, so it's worth making a habit of opening your account dashboard every few days to see where you stand — that way you can plan around what you have left. With tab switching now much lighter, that quick check takes even less effort.

Two options when you're running low

If your remaining data is looking thin, you have two main options: add data to your current eSIM (a top-up), or purchase a new plan.

OptionWhen it makes sense
Top-up (add data)Your travel dates haven't changed — you just need more data, and you want the quickest fix
Purchase a new planYour stay has been extended and you need more days, or the way you use data has changed

Top-up options and conditions vary by plan, and pricing (in USD) is always confirmed at the time of purchase — so if you're unsure, check the latest details on the comparison page. You can also search for a new plan there by destination, data amount, and number of days.

Passkeys: lighter, safer sign-ins

A passkey lets you sign in with the same gesture you use to unlock your device — Face ID or your fingerprint — instead of typing a password. When you're traveling, entering a long password on the move or in an unfamiliar setting is more of a hassle than you'd think, and typos are easy to make. With a passkey set up, opening your account takes just your device's authentication, and there's no password for anyone nearby to glimpse.

Passkeys are currently available on mobile devices such as iPhone. Support varies by device and OS version, so follow the prompts in your settings screen to try it out.

The Bloomy way: details we cared about

We prioritized "never leaving you wondering" over the mere appearance of speed. When loading does happen, we show a placeholder shaped like the real screen so you can tell what's going on. A blank white screen makes you wonder if the app has frozen; seeing the layout appear first tells you it's simply loading.

And in the rare case that the new tab switching doesn't work as expected, the page automatically falls back to the previous loading method — so you'll never be left stuck. Whenever we introduce something new, we build in an escape hatch for when things don't go to plan.

What's coming next

We plan to gradually tune other page transitions and the overall smoothness of the interface as well. As changes are finalized, we'll share them here in our development updates.

Note: Bloomy eSIMs are data-only — they do not include a phone number, SMS, or voice calling. Data usage is subject to a fair use policy, and actual connection quality varies with the local network, your device, and your location. How fast pages feel to load also depends on your device and connection. The information in this article is current as of July 2026.
