Your trip is coming up, and the eSIM setup email is nowhere to be found. Maybe you never saved the QR code, or you cleared out your inbox and it went with everything else. It's an unsettling moment. Here's the short answer: with Bloomy eSIM, everything you need for setup stays available in My Account, so in most cases there's nothing to reissue and nothing to buy again. That said, "I lost the email" and "I deleted the eSIM from my phone" are two very different situations. This article explains the difference, the order to check things in, what to look at if nothing arrived, and a few things worth knowing before you buy.
- Deleting the email doesn't break your setup
- You can pull up the details again anytime in My Account
- Deleting the eSIM from your phone is a different story
- Leave the eSIM installed until you're done using it
- The order to check things when nothing arrives
Losing the setup email usually doesn't require anything to be reissued
Let's start with the answer. The email we send after purchase is mainly a pointer to My Account. The information you actually need for setup lives in My Account, which means you can still set up your eSIM even if the email is gone. There's no need to carefully archive that message.
In My Account you'll find your setup link, the QR code, and your usage in one place. There's no limit on how many times you can open it, so you can check back before switching phones, or take one more look on the morning you leave. Losing the email does not mean losing your purchase.
Start by opening My Account. Sign in with the email address you used at checkout and your eSIMs will be listed there.
"I lost the email" and "I deleted it from my phone" are not the same problem
This is the point that causes the most confusion. Both feel like something disappeared, but what you need to do is completely different.
| Situation | Lost the email or setup link | Deleted the installed eSIM from your device |
|---|---|---|
| What happened | The email isn't in your inbox, or you can't find the link | You removed the installed line from your phone's settings |
| Status of your plan | Still there, untouched | Data may remain, but the same details may not restore it |
| What to do first | Open My Account and pull up the setup details again | Contact us — the right fix depends on the situation |
| Cost | None | In some cases, a new purchase may be necessary |
If you only lost the email or the setup link
Nothing to worry about here. Open My Account and the same setup details are right there. If you haven't installed the eSIM on your phone yet, the validity period usually hasn't started counting either (more on how that works below). Take a breath and continue from My Account.
If you deleted the eSIM from your device
This one is different. Once an eSIM has been installed and you then remove the line, the same details may not be able to reinstall it. This isn't specific to Bloomy — it's how eSIM technology works in general. Even if your remaining data still shows on screen, your device may not be able to receive the profile again.
We recommend leaving the eSIM on your device until you've finished using it. The urge to tidy up your settings screen is understandable, but recovery after deletion can't be guaranteed. When you're not using it, switch the line off rather than deleting it.
The order to check things in
Searching at random takes longer than working through a set order. Here's the sequence we'd suggest.
1. Open My Account
Even without the email, you can go straight to setup from here. Sign in with the email address you used at checkout, select the eSIM, and you'll see the setup link, the QR code, and your remaining data. For most people, this is where the problem ends.
2. Search your inbox and spam folder
Searching by sender domain or a keyword like "eSIM" works better than searching by subject line. Check your spam folder as well as any tabs your mail app sorts messages into automatically, such as Promotions.
3. Still nothing? Get in touch
It's also possible the email address was mistyped, or that payment didn't go all the way through. Reach us through Contact and include the date and time of your purchase along with the email address you used. Our team can help you in English.
Why an email might not have arrived at all
If nothing has shown up yet, it's usually one of the following.
It was filtered into spam or a promotions tab
This is the most common cause by far. Try searching across all folders rather than just the inbox.
The email address was entered incorrectly
A single wrong character is enough. Whether you can sign in to My Account is a useful clue.
The payment didn't complete
If checkout stopped partway through, the purchase may not have gone through. If the eSIM isn't listed in My Account, this is a likely explanation.
In every one of these cases, My Account tells you whether the purchase actually went through. Make it your starting point.
Setup starts with a single tap on a link
Setting up a Bloomy eSIM begins with one tap on your setup link. The steps are straightforward.
- Open My Account, or the message you received, and tap the setup link once
- Follow the prompts on your device to add the eSIM
- When you arrive, turn the added line on and switch data roaming on
A scannable QR code and manual setup details are available too, but think of those as backups for when the link doesn't get you all the way there. On most devices, one tap is enough. You'll find what each screen looks like in our setup guide. If you can't get connected, our troubleshooting guide is worth a look as well.
One thing to note: devices that don't support eSIM can't install one at all. Checking our compatible devices list before you buy saves a lot of trouble.
Common assumptions, and how it actually works
Here are the points people most often get wrong, including a few already covered above.
| Common assumption | How it actually works |
|---|---|
| Deleting the email means you can't set up the eSIM | You can pull the details up again in My Account anytime |
| A setup PDF gets sent to you | We don't send PDFs. Instructions live in My Account and the setup guide |
| You need to install a dedicated app | You don't. Buying, setup, and checking your data all work in a browser |
| The validity period starts on the day you buy | On most plans, the countdown starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination |
| One eSIM works in any country | Each plan covers specific countries and regions. For multi-country trips, choose a regional plan |
How the validity period is counted matters a lot if you like to buy in advance. Because buying alone doesn't start the clock, you can purchase and complete setup well before you leave. That said, how long a plan can sit before activation, and exactly how the days are counted, can vary by plan — check the details shown in My Account for the exact terms (as of July 2026).
Data only: what that means for calls and SMS
Bloomy eSIM is a data-only service. It does not include a phone number, voice calls, or SMS. Calling and messaging apps that run over data — WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime and the like — work as usual. So it isn't that calls are impossible; it's that traditional phone-number calling and text messaging aren't part of the plan.
If you're expecting SMS verification codes from your bank or credit card company, plan ahead: keep your home-country line active, or switch those accounts over to an authenticator app or email-based verification. This is usually something you can only arrange before you travel, so it's worth sorting out early.
When this article solves it, and when you need something else
See which of these describes your situation.
This article solves it if
- You deleted the setup email, or can't find it
- You never saved the QR code, or deleted the image
- You got a new phone and want to set up again (eSIM unused or still installed)
- You want to set it up on a family member's device instead
You'll need something else if
- You deleted the eSIM from your device (please get in touch with us)
- The purchase never completed (nothing appears in My Account)
- Your device doesn't support eSIM
- You need a phone number or SMS (you'll want a separate solution)
Where to go from here
Start with My Account. Pulling up your setup details again, checking remaining data, and topping up all happen there. For what the setup screens look like, see the setup guide; if you can't connect, see troubleshooting; anything else is likely covered in our FAQ.
If you're still choosing a plan for your destination, our eSIM comparison page lets you filter by country, data amount, and number of days. For the basics of using an eSIM, our eSIM guide is a good place to start.
