Our FAQ and service guide pages, which were previously shown mainly in Japanese, are now easier to read in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Spanish, and French. If family or friends are traveling with you, or if the people around you use a language other than Japanese, it's now easier for everyone to check how pricing works, how to get set up, and the key points to keep in mind for the unlimited plan — each in the language they're most comfortable with.
What we improved
We've reviewed the parts of our service guides and unlimited-plan FAQ that were still only available in Japanese, and adjusted the wording so the content comes through clearly in the major languages we support. We're also gradually making our blog articles available in more languages, starting with the ones readers turn to most.
※The plans, prices, and terms actually available may differ by country and region. Please check the latest details on the eSIM comparison and purchase page before you buy.
Why we did this
Bloomy eSIM is used by people in all kinds of situations — a first trip abroad, a return to travel after a long break, study abroad, an overseas work assignment, or a long stay. In some cases the traveler reads one language while the family or friends helping them on the ground read another. We want to remove the small stumbling block of "I want to understand this, but the language barrier makes it hard to keep reading." That's the thinking behind these updates.
What this means for you
- It's easier to check pricing and setup in the language you read most comfortably.
- The key points about the unlimited plan — for example, that speeds and conditions can vary with the local network, area, and congestion, and that a fair-use policy may apply — are now presented consistently across languages.
- It's easier to go over your pre-trip preparations together with family.
Related: getting your connectivity and communication ready when you're unsure about the language
Along with the multilingual updates, here are a few practical ideas for when you're worried about the language. Having these in place makes it easier to stay calm and handle things on the ground.
Think in terms of "data"
Bloomy eSIM is a data-only service. It does not include a phone number, SMS, or voice calls, so if you need SMS verification tied to a phone number or need to make voice calls, it's reassuring to keep a backup option ready — such as keeping your home physical SIM, or using an authenticator app. That said, app-based calls and messages through services like WhatsApp can often be used wherever you have a working data connection. When you're unsure about the language, having a way to message in text — translating on the spot as you go — means you can keep things moving calmly even if a spoken conversation stalls.
Make translation and maps work offline
For translation and map apps, downloading the language data and maps before you travel makes them easier to use even where the connection is unstable. Networks tend to get congested in crowded places like airports and stations, so the habit of "saving it in advance" really pays off.
Keep a record of emergency contacts
Note down the contacts for your accommodation, insurance, and card companies somewhere separate from your phone, so you're not stuck if something goes wrong. If you're unsure how to use Bloomy, you can check the FAQ or reach us through Contact.
The Bloomy approach
Even as we add more languages, we don't try to do everything at once. We take it one piece at a time, starting with the pages people read most and the spots where people most often get stuck. We keep things gentle, clean, and reassuring, steadily reviewing the details so that even first-time users can find their way without confusion.
Looking ahead
We'll continue rolling out the multilingual display step by step. We'll watch how pages are read and used, and make adjustments where they're needed most.
