My Account Now Speaks Your Language Everywhere: Plan Names, Country Names, and Dates Included

We've given the My Account display a thorough refresh, so everything — plan names, country names, dates, and days remaining — now appears in the language you choose. Until now, menus and buttons were translated, but parts of some screens could still show up in Japanese, the language Bloomy started in. With this update, you can check your data balance and expiry date entirely in your own language. In this article, we'll walk through what changed, when it comes in handy, and a few pre-trip preparation tips worth knowing.

What you'll learn in this article
  • Plan names, country names, and dates now display in your selected language
  • This is a display-only change — your plan and payments stay exactly the same
  • You can switch languages anytime from My Account
  • Switching before departure makes things easier when traveling with family and friends
  • Data-only eSIMs still work with app-based calls like WhatsApp

What's in this update

Bloomy's My Account can be displayed in seven languages, including English (as of July 2026). Previously, fixed text such as menus and buttons was translated, but data-driven parts like plan names and country names could still appear in Japanese. We've now gone through the display in every language, one item at a time, and updated the following to show in your selected language:

  • Plan names: For example, with English selected, a plan now reads "Canada 100MB 7 days" instead of its original Japanese name. The same applies to multi-country regional plans.
  • Country and region names: Country names shown in your eSIM list, the Bloomy Map, and the checkout confirmation screen now use the natural, familiar naming for each language.
  • Dates and days remaining: Month names and "X days left" labels now follow your selected language.
  • Price formatting: Amounts in your order history are now formatted the way currency is naturally written in each language. The currency and amount you actually paid are unchanged.
  • Setup instructions and button labels: Translations are now consistent across every detail, from eSIM setup guidance to cancel buttons.

Here's a before-and-after summary of the changes:

Key point

This update changes the display only. Your current plan, data allowance, and the currency and amount of your payments are completely unaffected. There's nothing you need to do — just open My Account as usual and the changes are already there.

Why we revisited the display language

Using an eSIM abroad often means relying on your connection in an unfamiliar environment. If part of the screen shows up in a language you can't read at a moment like that, it plants a small seed of doubt: "Is this display telling me something important?" Plan names and days remaining, in particular, are essential information for knowing which plan you're on and how much you have left. If you can't read them, it's hard to judge your remaining data or when your plan ends.

A language barrier can be just as much of a psychological hurdle as connectivity worries themselves. Because Bloomy is built around the idea that no one should feel lost — even first-time users — we reviewed and refined each screen by hand rather than relying on mechanical substitution, so the experience feels equally reassuring no matter what language you call your own.

How this makes things easier for you

Whatever language you're most comfortable in, this update helps in situations like these:

  • If you received an eSIM as a gift, you can check your data balance and expiry date in your own language, even if the buyer uses a different one.
  • If you purchased plans for the whole family, each person can view My Account in the language that suits them best.
  • When you need to check your remaining data in a hurry while traveling, a language you read fluently lets you take it in at a glance.
  • In multilingual households, or with friends abroad, it's much easier to explain things while showing someone the screen in their language.

Tip: Preparing to use an eSIM with family or friends who speak a different language

With this update, sharing Bloomy with someone who reads a different language is easier than ever. A little preparation before departure makes things on the ground even smoother:

  • Switch the display language before you leave: If the person using the eSIM sets it to the language they read best, there's no scrambling to figure out the interface once abroad. You can switch anytime from My Account.
  • Share the setup flow in advance: Setting up Bloomy takes one tap on the setup link you receive, following the on-screen steps to add the eSIM, and turning the line on after arrival. Sharing the setup guide ahead of time gives everyone a reference if they get stuck.
  • Agree on how you'll stay in touch: Bloomy eSIMs are data-only — they don't include a phone number, so voice calls and SMS aren't available. However, app-based calls that run over data, such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and FaceTime, work as usual. Deciding "we'll use this app" before the trip removes any guesswork. If you need a phone number or SMS, plan an alternative alongside your eSIM.
  • Show them where to check remaining data: The eSIM list in My Account shows data balance and days remaining at any time — and with this update, that screen now reads naturally in their chosen language too.

Tip: Connectivity prep that eases language worries abroad

Along with the language improvements in My Account, a bit of connectivity prep before departure can shrink language anxiety abroad at its source:

  • Set up your eSIM before departure: Most translation and map apps depend on a connection. Add your eSIM before you leave and simply turn the line on after landing, so you're connected right from the airport. You can check whether your device supports eSIM on the compatible devices page.
  • Prepare for offline moments: Downloading translation language packs and offline maps in advance means no panic in areas with a weak signal. These downloads use data, so it's best to do them on Wi-Fi at home.
  • Save essential information as screenshots: Your accommodation address, booking confirmations, and anything else you'll definitely need are best saved as screenshots, so you can view them regardless of connectivity.
  • Know what to do if you can't connect: Connection speed and reliability vary with local network conditions, coverage area, and congestion. The troubleshooting page walks through what to check when things aren't working.

If you're unsure how much data or how many days you need, the eSIM comparison page lets you search plans by destination, data allowance, and trip length. Available plans and terms can differ by country and region, so please check the latest listings — including current pricing — on the comparison page at the time of purchase.

The details we cared about, the Bloomy way

For country names, we went beyond straightforward translation to confirm that each one uses the naming people actually use in that language. The common name or spelling for the same country can differ from language to language, so we checked screen by screen that nothing reads awkwardly.

We were also especially careful with information where a misreading matters — amounts and dates above all. This change is purely a display refinement: it has no effect on your current plan or payments. We wanted to preserve that sense of "the display changed, but nothing underneath did" while polishing even the smallest screens. Rather than one sweeping overhaul, we improve things steadily, one piece at a time — and that won't change.

Switching languages

You can change your display language anytime from My Account. Switch as often as you like — it has no effect on your plan or payments, so feel free to try out whichever language fits you best. When explaining Bloomy to family or friends, switching to their language and showing them the screen can get the point across faster than words.

What's next

Natural-sounding translations aren't a one-time job — we'll keep reviewing them continuously. As we add new screens and features, we're also improving our underlying processes so everything arrives readable in every language from day one. If you spot anything that looks off, letting us know via contact us helps guide future improvements.
