When someone opened a Bloomy eSIM gift from a link shared in a messaging app, the sign-in could stall partway through. We've now added an automatic on-screen tip to the login page that explains exactly what to do in these situations, so recipients can claim their gift without getting stuck.
What we changed
When the login screen is opened inside an "in-app browser" (the lightweight browser that opens inside apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook), a guidance banner now appears automatically. It explains the following:
- Some sign-in methods may not work inside an in-app browser
- "Email login (send a login link)" works without any extra steps
- Choosing "Open in browser" from the menu in the top-right corner lets you sign in as usual
This guidance has been added to both the My Account login screen and the login page. It doesn't appear when you're already using a standard browser such as Safari or Chrome, so it only reaches the people who actually need it.
Why login can stall in an in-app browser
When you tap a link inside a message in a chat or social app, it usually opens in that app's built-in lightweight browser (the in-app browser). For security reasons, these browsers sometimes limit sign-in for certain external services. This isn't a problem on Bloomy's side — it comes from how each app or service is designed to behave.
Because eSIM gifts are often shared through messaging apps, recipients are especially likely to run into this, so we added the guidance to help make sure no one gets left behind at the login step.
What to do if login stalls
If it does stop partway, you can continue using either of the methods below.
Option 1: Sign in by email
Use "Email login (send a login link)" on the sign-in screen, and a login link will be sent to your registered email address. This works even while you're still in the in-app browser, so it's the quickest option.
Option 2: Reopen in your regular browser
Tap the "…" or the share icon in the top-right corner of the page and choose "Open in browser" or "Open in Safari" to reopen it in Safari or Chrome. Signing in from there works as usual.
If something isn't working, try "Email login" first. If you still can't continue, reopening the page in your regular browser resolves it in almost every case.
The details we cared about
The guidance banner uses the same gentle tone as the login screen — a clean white background, soft blue accents, and easy-to-read text — so it blends in naturally. Rather than presenting it as a harsh error, we wrote it to show a clear next step: "here's how to make it work." Our goal was to help people using Bloomy for the first time, or receiving a gift for the first time, move forward with confidence.
What's next
We'll keep reviewing the spots where login and gift redemption tend to trip people up, refining them one by one to make everything clearer. If you notice anything, please let us know through our contact page.
