My Page Now Shows Which eSIMs Haven’t Connected Yet

Many travelers install their eSIM on their device before leaving home. Afterward, it's easy to wonder whether the plan has already started counting down. To clear that up, My Page now labels any eSIM that has been added to your device but hasn't connected to a network yet as "Added to device · Not connected yet."

This is a display change only. It does not reduce the data you can actually use.

What's New

We've updated how eSIM cards appear on My Page so they better reflect their actual status.

  • An eSIM that has been installed on your device but has never connected to a network is labeled "Added to device · Not connected yet."
  • Before the plan's validity period starts, the day count is shown as "Usable for X days after activation."
  • The same approach applies whether the line is turned off on your device or turned on but not yet used.
  • eSIMs that have already connected display exactly as before.

The labels are consistent across all seven supported languages.

Why We Made This Change

With an eSIM, there are two steps: adding it to your device, and starting to use it. Many people add their eSIM before they travel, when it isn't yet connected to local networks.

Previously, once an eSIM was added to a device, My Page could look similar to an active eSIM. That could make it seem as though the validity period had already started. We wanted it to be clear at a glance which stage an eSIM is in, so you can use it with confidence after purchase.

How This Helps You

Less worry before your trip

Right after setup, you can check My Page and see "Not connected yet." You can wait for your departure with peace of mind.

Clearer next steps at your destination

While the card shows "Added to device · Not connected yet," you'll know the line hasn't been turned on at your destination. It's also easier to see what to do after you arrive.

Check your status before contacting support

If you're not sure whether an eSIM was installed correctly, compare My Page with your device's settings screen to understand where things stand.

Column: Installation and Activation Are Separate Steps

Here are a few things to know that relate to this change.

Setup information can only be installed once

Once eSIM setup information is installed on a device, it is marked as used on that device. If you repeat the same step after the first successful install, you may see a message saying "Unable to activate eSIM." This doesn't necessarily mean the eSIM is missing. Check the mobile network section of your device's settings first to see whether the line has already been added.

When the validity period starts depends on the plan

For some plans, the validity period starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when it's installed on your device. Please check the purchase page to see which method applies to your plan.

Basic steps after you arrive

  1. In your device's settings, turn on the Bloomy eSIM line.
  2. On the same screen, turn on data roaming.
  3. Switch your mobile data line to that eSIM.

Menu names may vary slightly depending on your device and OS version. App-based calls that use data, such as WhatsApp calls, work as usual. However, you can't make or receive calls to phone numbers or send SMS. Bloomy eSIMs are generally data-only. Actual speeds and coverage depend on the local network, your device, and your location. Fair use policies also apply.

What Makes This Bloomy-Specific

  • We chose wording that states the status plainly rather than wording that creates anxiety.
  • We kept the logic for the "In use" section the same and conveyed status only through the card display.
  • Before the period starts, we use "after activation" rather than stating a fixed end date.

Future Improvements

We're continuing to look for better ways to show the status of an eSIM on your device. If you find moments after purchase where things feel unclear, let us know, and we'll keep refining them one at a time.
